Drama

On Saturday 22 June members of the children’s singing and drama group entertained an audience in church with a series of sketches and songs on the theme of the importance of children growing up with the right set of values.

‘Belonging’ wasSinging and Drama Group 1 a humorous sketch highlighting the lack of tolerance that people often show towards people who are different from themselves. ‘House on the Rock’ was a parody of the parable that Jesus told about building a life on firm foundations.

The three songs reinforced the theme with one verse of ‘We are the Children of the World’ being particularly challenging for adults in the audience. Among the words was the following; ‘Be careful what you’re telling us, we’re learning what you’re showing us. Depending on your guidance to help us on our way.’

The acting and singing of all of the children was brilliant and the level of applause and the lovely comments from audience members afterwards were well deserved. A reward for all of their hard work over the last few months.

A special thank-you to Claire Jones for her keyboard expertise.
